Lucas Euser - Team Spider Tech

A Chat Before The ITT and Some Thoughts on the USAPCC Race

I first had the pleasure of meeting Lucas Euser at the AMGEN Tour of California a few years back. He had just finished an epic race down Highway 1 to San Luis Obispo and was shivering in the hallway whilst waiting for the press conference to begin. He had been battling all the way down the coast in inclement weather and was ravenous. I went and snagged him a boxed lunch from the press room and watched as he wolfed it down. We had a moment to talk about his cycling history to that moment (a recent graduate from Cal-Poly SLO and a collegiate cyclist) and the enormous support that had turned out for him in his home town. He was so excited with it all.

With the weather related cancelation of the stage one trip around Tahoe Brad must have been a bit disappointer. This 30 year old San Francisco native has consistently improved his TT skills and his all around riding abilities. In 2011, he was especially looking forward to the Solvang TT. Van Ulden, who says “It's bike racing, I like to keep it fun,” had this to say:
