Bianchi to Enter Olympics With 13 Bikes
Bianchi bikes are set to be on stage at the Olympics in London, July 27th to August 12th. Several Bianchi’s top models will be in the mix in the British capital: five Oltre, one Sempre, four Pico Crono Carbon and three Methanol from TX Active-Bianchi's team, including SL2 and 29SL models.
The following Bianchi's professional riders will take part in the Men’s Road Race on Saturday, July 28th, with start of the race at 10am, local time:
- Lieuwe Westra (Netherlands, Vacansoleil-DCM): Oltre
- Sergey Lagutin (Uzbekistan, Vacansoleil-DCM): Oltre
- Tomas Gil (Venezuela, Androni Giocattoli): Oltre
- Jackson Rodriguez (Colombia, Androni Giocattoli): Oltre
- Miguel Ubeto (Colombia, Androni Giocattoli): Oltre
- Fabio Duarte (Colombia, Coldeportes): Sempre
Four Pico Crono Carbon bikes will be on the launching pad in the Men’s Individual Time Trial event, at Hampton Court Palace, on August 1st. Bianchi-supplied riders will be Vacansoleil-DCM’s Lieuwe Westra and Gustav Erik Larsson, Dutch and Swedish ITT champion respectively, Colombian Duarte and Venezuelan Gil.
On August 12th, in the 2012 Games’ last day, TX Active-Bianchi team will look for glory in the Man MTB race on Hadleigh Farm’s course. French Stephane Tempier, Colombian Leonardo Paez and Italian U23 Gerhard Kerschbaumer will be on the starting line at 1.30 pm. TX Active-Bianchi’s athletes ride on Bianchi Methanol SL2 (26”) and Bianchi Methanol 29 SL (29’”) bikes.
Bianchi is proud to be in the thick of the action in three different Olympic races, during a really positive season, enriched by three wins at Giro d’Italia (Androni’s Rubiano and Ferrari, Vacansoleil-DCM’s De Gendt on Stelvio top) and several good placements at the recent Tour de France.
After succeeding on the roads of North and South America, Asia, Europe and Australia, Bianchi professional riders are now ready to take a curtain call at the Olympics, in the most important sporting event in the world.
